World of Warcraft celebrated its 4th anniversary last November 23. Players who logged into the game received a "WoW's 4th Anniversary" achievement and a nice, cuddly Baby Blizzard Bear vanity pet.
The Illidan Statue at the entrance of BlizzCon 2008 was a sight to behold. Towering at 9 feet tall, it surely caught the eyes of everyone who attended the event.
The WCG slogan, "Beyond the Game", means that the WCG is not just a world game tournament, but also combines the world to create harmony and enjoyment through the shared emotions. Further, the WCG slogan hopes for peace that emerge during its tournament, which fosters mutual respect amongst all participants from all over the world as we strive together to build an attractive "World Cultural Festival".
World Cyber Games is an annual, international event in which top players from different countries compete for cash prizes and the coveted title of being the world's best in their chosen games. The largest gaming festival in the world, WCG unites countries in a fun, gaming environment. This "World Cultural Festival", which has no language or cultural barriers, longs to embody respect for universal fundamentals based on ethical principles without having any national boundaries in play.
Warcraft proved to be a popular theme for participants in the CosPlay event of WCG Philippines 2007. Overwhelming other entries from different animes, games and TV shows, the Warcraft characters stood out above the rest, bagging the top 3 prizes. None other than "Illidan" nabbed the top spot:
